Firm Policy & Procedures
It is the general policy and practice of the firm to individualize the handling of each file, unless a team approach is required or requested. Accordingly, a file assignment is reviewed upon receipt by the Litigation Coordinator and assigned to a particular member of the firm depending on the litigation experience and the current case load of the particular attorney. Once a file is assigned to a particular attorney, it will be handled personally by that attorney in order to avoid any unnecessary expense or duplication of effort. After the issues in the case are identified, the most cost-effective method of handling the particular case is provided to our client and/or the insurer. This provides our clients with a clear understanding of the parameters of the proposed litigation and associated costs.
In complex, multi-party or substantial exposure cases, files may be handled on a “team basis” composed of partners and associates with the assigned partners(s) having responsibility for coordination, decision making and reporting.
